Led by Glen Galea, 7R Lifestyle Malta has spent over five years documenting and challenging illegal waste dumping at Għar Lapsi, a protected Natura2000 site.
7R had accumulated over 5 years of environmental incident data, photos, reports, and enforcement interactions, but the data existed as disconnected logs that could not be reliably queried, updated, or used to show impact without significant manual effort.
The timeline captures how we worked with 7R Lifestyle Malta to bring structure to over five years of environmental data and make it usable for ongoing reporting and public awareness.
We began with recurring biweekly, face-to-face sessions to understand how 7R was collecting, updating, and using its data. These sessions helped surface pain points, clarify priorities, and align on what the data needed to support in practice.
We designed and built a central workspace to organise and manage a large volume of environmental data points and photos collected over several years. The workspace was structured to be functional, easy to use, and simple to maintain over time.
Once the data was structured, we focused on using it visually. The workspace was set up to clearly communicate the environmental impact of 7R’s initiatives, while also making gaps and areas requiring further action visible.
The outcome was a structured, reliable system that allowed 7R Lifestyle Malta to resume maintaining its data, use it visually, and communicate environmental impact with greater clarity and confidence.
Historical records that had become difficult to maintain were cleaned, organised, and consolidated into a single workspace. This allowed updates to resume without reworking past data or relying on memory.
With data structured consistently, 7R could visually present the impact of its initiatives while also highlighting areas that still require attention. This supported more transparent and credible communication with followers.
Through hands-on sessions and guidance, 7R was left with a workspace that was easy to use and adapt over time. This made it easier to keep data up to date and maintain the system as new information was added.
